Project Features:

Trade Training Centre comprising Metalwork and Agricultural Training Facilities

Successful Project Outcome:

  • Project completed ahead of programme
  • Successful management of concurrent construction activities in separate locations of school campus

The Metalwork facility required the total refurbishment and fit-out of an existing workshop building with new wall floor & services upgrade to accommodate the installation of new machinery. The Agricultural Learning Centre comprises a new steel clad and plasterboard lined structure with minor alterations to a separate existing brick amenities building.

As the two facilities were located on separate sites of this very extensive school campus, contractors were required to travel between sites. Each work area was managed as a separate project in respect to Work Health and Safety and Security requirements. As a result of unforeseen site conditions, numerous design variations were necessary… however, the project was completed in conformance with the client’s high expectations ahead of schedule.

New England Constructions delivered this project in a cooperative and professional manner. NEC provided skill, advice and options when issues arose, which led to positive outcomes. The School, TAFE and community are very pleased with the assists and the way NEC managed the works and communicated with all stakeholders.
