Project features:
Alterations and additions to expand capacity of existing fire station
Successful project outcome:
- Daily co-ordination with the fire station management to ensure continual operation of fire station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Construction works completed two weeks ahead of program
Situated close to the Queensland border, the project required the fit-out of a warehouse structure to increase the existing Banora Point Fire Station from 133 sq m to 284 sq m of floor area. The Banora Point Fire Station is an ‘on-call’ station, which is required to be fully operational 24 hours every day. Strong lines of communication and daily co-ordination between the Fire Station Management and New England Constructions Site Manager ensured the maintenance of full access to the fire engine bay for the duration of the building works.
