This regional club is typical of many of our repeat client projects in the registered club industry. The project involved the commissioning of New England Constructions to build four separate stages over a period of 16 years. Stages included a new general
lounge, gaming lounge and outside gaming terrace, kitchen and bistro dining facilities and a multi-purpose function centre. A key feature required by consecutive Boards and Management of the club was the security of a fixed price contract with no variations and the utilisation of local trades wherever practical.

The most recent stage in 2011 required the conversion of an existing 1960s’-style auditorium and stage area into a multi-purpose function centre. The existing auditorium comprised a total area of 420 sq m, which through the construction of a series of operable walls, is now divided into three separate areas of 220 sq m, 130 sq m and 40 sq m, plus new bar facilities. New floor coverings, wall surfaces and suspended ceilings were required, complete with an air conditioning system to replace the original evaporative coolers. Feature lighting and air conditioning services are separately controlled for each of the three multi-purpose rooms in order to conserve energy. As all construction stages were physically interfaced with the ongoing club trading activities, safety, noise and dust control management by New England Constructions was important to ensure minimal disruption. The contract value of this stage was $0.52 million.
